Ryunosuke Sawairi has return for his second year on Siena Heights men’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach. He was previously an assistant coach for NCAA Division III program Wells (N.Y.). Sawairi was also an assistant coach with the TC Waza youth program in Ithaca, N.Y.
Sawairi, a native of Nagoya, Japan, owns a Bachelor’s degree in sport management from SUNY Cortland (N.Y.) and an Associate’s degree in sport management from Alfred State (N.Y.). Prior to arriving in the United States, he played soccer for Nagoya FC and participated in a national high school tournament as a 15-year-old.
As a striker, Sawairi played varsity soccer at Alfred State and then club soccer at Cortland. Academically, he was named to the President’s List during his time in Cortland.
