ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Saints women's wrestling team landed its first nationally-ranked recruit in two-time Ohio state placer Zoë Hussar.
Hussar, of Rossford High School, is ranked No. 19 at 152 pounds in the Nov. 17 national rankings released by USA Wrestling. Hussar also finished in fifth place at the Junior Beach World Championships in Romania in September.
"For as great of a wrestler Zoë is – she is an even better person, and I believe that her commitment is a testament to what we're building here at Siena Heights University," said Head Coach Dominic Adams. "She is a leader in the room who will help us set the standard for SHU Women's Wrestling for years to come."
Hussar finished runner-up at the Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association girl's state finals in 2020 and was third in 2021. She is currently the top-ranked wrestler at her weight.
A USA Wrestling-Ohio state champion in freestyle in 2021, Hussar was unable to compete at Fargo because of injury.
Hussar is the second signing for the Saints this month after Maggie Mann became the first commitment in school history. https://shusaints.com/sports/wwrest/2021-22/releases/20211116i40pko
