Women's Lax Rated Third On WHAC Preseason Poll

The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team was ranked third on the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released by the conference on Tuesday.

The Saints received 81 points on the poll, listed behind the unananimous No. 1, Lawrence Tech (100), and Aquinas (82).

Siena Heights finished 10-9 last season with a 7-2 mark in WHAC play. The Saints advanced to the WHAC Tournament finals and the NAIA Tournament, but were eliminated from both tournaments by the eventual national runner-up, LTU.

SHU returns a pair of All-WHAC honorees from last year, including two-time All-WHAC performer Emily Pringle.

Pringle was second on the team in both goals (46) and points (64). She was All-WHAC First Team in 2022 and Second Team in 2021.

Shelby Mueller, a junior defender, totaled 18 groundballs and 15 caused turnovers in 2022 as she was named to the All-WHAC Second Team. Mueller also had a goal and an assist.

The Saints have two exhibition games scheduled on Feb. 16 and 18 against Adrian and Hope, respectively, before opening regular-season play on Feb. 22 with a 4 p.m. visit from Thomas More.
