Siena Heights women's lacrosse midfielder Marissa Cirino was named the lacrosse offensive player of the week for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) on Tuesday afternoon.
Cirino tied the program record of most goals in a single game with 10 in the win against Indiana Tech this past Saturday. She also tallied one assist, five ground balls, and four draw controls during that game. She ranks 3rd in the NAIA in Goals/Game (5.000, 13th in Pts/Game (5.670), 17th in Shots/Game (7.670), 17th in SOG/Game (6.000), and 28th in Total Goals (15).
The Canton, Michigan native adds this award to her conference women's lacrosse offensive player of the week honor that she received yesterday. This is the first nation offensive player of the week award for Cirino's collegiate career. It is also the first time this season Saints women's lacrosse had had a representative as NAIA player of the week.
The Saints face Concordia at home tonight for a WHAC matchup that is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., EST.
