Ferguson Named Top Defender in WHAC Women's Lax, Kehn and Hill Also Receive Major Honors

Two Siena Heights women's lacrosse players -- sophomore Erin Kehn and freshman Tabitha Ferguson -- were named to the All-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference First Team, as announced by the league recently. Ferguson was also named WHAC Defensive Player of the Year while SHU head coach Cindy Hill claimed her second straight Coach of the Year honor.

Senior Stephannie Gonzalez was honored as an All-WHAC Honorable Mention while Hill and freshman Aliisa Mason were recognized on the WHAC Champions of Character Team.

Ferguson had a 9-8 record in the Siena Heights cage during the 2014 season. She recorded single-season school records in several categories, including wins, saves, minutes and goals-against average. She was also credited with 239 saves in approximately 1,000 minutes in net. Ferguson compiled a 15.58 goals-against average.

Kehn had a record-breaking year as well, setting new single-season program records for goals (82), points (100) and draw controls (69). She also ranked second on the team in assists (18).

Gonzalez rated second on the team in goals (56) and points (68) while rating third in assists (12) and draw controls (35). She was also the lone SHU honoree on the Academic All-WHAC Team -- an award she has now claimed in back-to-back years.

Hill, who was actually a Co-Coach of the Year, has now won the award both years that the WHAC has sponsored women's lacrosse as a conference sport. In 2014, the Saints had a 9-10 record and advanced to the WHAC Tournament semifinals -- their most successful season to-date.
