GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Ashley Russo and Elaine Johnson qualified for Nationals as they placed 10th and 13th, respectively, to lead the Siena Heights women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Riverside Park.
Russo clocked in at 19:15.7 and Johnson finished the 5K layout in 19:23.4 for the Saints, who had 86 team points.
Also scoring for SHU, Lucia Alfaro took 19th in 19:40.5, Lauren McMahon was 21st in 19:43.1, and Kristin Stobinski ran to 25th in 19:53.0.
Other finishers for Siena Heights included Brianna Pekel, who was 27th in 20:00.1, and Lindsay Larsen, who finished 20:03.8.
The Siena Heights women finished behind team champ Aquinas (28), Indiana Tech (62) and Cornerstone (76) while finishing ahead of Concordia (156), Madonna (168), Davenport (187), Michigan-Dearborn (241), Lawrence Tech (268) and Lourdes (279).
Cornerstone's Julie Oosterhouse was the fastest individual with a time of 18:07.1.
The Saints' season will wrap up on Saturday, Nov. 22, when Russo and Johnson compete at the NAIA Championships at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan.
