SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Elaine Johnson led a quintet of Siena Heights women's cross country runners in the Top 18 as the Saints placed second among 16 teams at the Bethel (Ind.) Invitational.

Johnson ran the 5-kilometer race in 18:49.2, placing sixth among 161 competitors. Ashley Russo was ninth with a 19:12.9 and Lindsay Larsen took 13th in 19:24.0.

Rounding out the SHU scorers, Lucia Alfaro finished 15th in 19:33.5 and Mariah Ridal clocked in at 19:48.6 to place 18th.

The Saints scored 61 points and finished behind Indiana Tech (43). Anna Bos of Trinity Christian (Ill.) won the race with a time of 18:17.0.

Siena Heights will compete next at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge, which will take place in Grand Rapids.
