Women's Cross Country Claims Lansing Invitational Title

LANSING, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's cross country team scored five runners in the Top 21 en route to winning the Lansing Invitational on Friday.

Ashley Russo was the Saints' top finisher, taking eighth place in 19:26.0. Elaine Johnson took 12th in 19:32.0, Lindsay Larsen was 17th in 19:53.0 and Lucia Alfaro clocked in at 19:58.` for 20th.

Mariah Ridal finished out SHU's scoring, placing 21st in 20:02.3, while Kristin Stobinski had a 38th-place finish in 20:22.3.

The Saints scored 64 points. Lansing Community College was second with 66 and Calvin finished third with 105.

Lansing's Kayla Kraft won the individual race with a time of 18:45.9.

The Saints will compete again at the Bethel (Ind.) Invitational on Friday, Oct. 10.
