LANSING, Mich. -- Elaine Johnson and Mariah Ridal placed 16th and 23rd, respectively, to lead the Siena Heights women's cross country team to an eighth-place finish among 31 teams at the Lansing Invitational on Friday.
Johnson ran the five-kilometer course in 19:11 and was the 13th collegiate runner to finish. Ridal was the 20th college runner and finished in 19:23.
Other scorers for SHU included Alejandra Beltran, who took 71st in 20:34; Lucia Alfaro, who was 76th in 20:38; and Kristin Stobinski, who placed 21:03.
The top individual finisher was Emily Short of Saginaw Valley State, who finished in 18:00. SVSU scored 27 points for the team victory. SHU finished with 223.
