Women's Wrestling's Cox, Geibe Putting in Summer Work

The "off time" of the summer months was not exactly off time for two members of the Siena Heights women's wrestling program in 2023.

Head coach Whitney Cox added to her accolades on the international level while sophomore Bo Geibe received an invitation to the prestigious wrestling training center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
 
Cox led the United States U20 women's freestyle team to a gold-medal team finish at the Pan-American Games in Santiago, Chile. Team USA had seven individual golds, one silver and one bronze as the American women rolled to a 32-5 overall record.
 
Cox was an international star herself on the mat for more than a decade. Wrestling at 50 kilograms (110 pounds), where she was a five-time U.S. World Team member and six-time U.S. Open champion. Cox was an alternate for the U.S. Olympic Team that competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was a Junior World Champion in 2007.
 
Cox is also a two-time Pan American Games champion (2015, 2019). In 2019, she was the silver medalist at the World Military Games. She was also a Military World Silver medalist and a Pan American Champion in 2018.\
 
Geibe, the first SHU woman to participate in the US Marine Corps National Championships, received an invitation to train at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center.
 
Geibe, a freshman in 2022-23, had placed seventh in the U23 division and became the program's first USMC Women's National Championships All-American in the spring. She totaled a record of 5-1 in the U23 division and also wrestled at U20 where she finished with a 4-2 record.
