Siena Heights Women’s Wrestling Finds Home in Mid-South Conference for 2022-23 Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Mid-South Conference announced that the Siena Heights women's wrestling team has been accepted as an associate member for the 2022-23 season.

"We are proud to be accepted as an associate member of the Mid-South Conference for the first season of SHU women's wrestling," said Siena Heights Director of Athletics Sue Syljebeck. "I am excited to watch the program perform and get the chance to compete in a very competitive conference."

Mid-South Conference women's wrestling has an impressive resume since it began in the 2017-18 season. The conference boasts the current back-to-back National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Champion Campbellsville. Along with the team championship, four Mid-South women's grapplers earned individual national titles in their weight classes during the 2022 NAIA Tournament.

"Siena Heights University is excited and honored to be joining the Mid-South Conference as a [associate] member for women's wrestling," said SHU head women's wrestling coach Dominic Adams. "The MSC historically has some of the toughest teams in the country year-in and year-out, and that will provide a wonderful opportunity for our student-athletes. We look forward to competing in one of the NAIA's premier women's wrestling conferences in a year that the NAIA also will host the first official women's collegiate wrestling national championship. It is exciting to create new rivalries and build new traditions alongside our fellow Mid-South Conference institutions."

The Saints' women's wrestling team begins the inaugural season on November 5 when the team heads to a tournament at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
