ADRIAN, Mich. – Head Coach Dominic Adams and the Siena Heights University women's wrestling program announced the signing of Mallory Chunat from Alliance High School in Ohio.
Chunat was undefeated as a junior and won the 125-pound Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association girls' state championship in 2020. She is currently ranked No. 2 at her weight in the state.
"Mallory Chunat is one of those student-athletes who elevates those around her," Adams said. "She is a fantastic student, is an extremely hard worker, and will be a great leader for this program."
Mallory also finished third at state as a sophomore, is the first girl to wrestle varsity at her school, and win while also being the team captain and multiple-time all-American.
She was coached by Joe Richardson at Alliance.
Chunat plans to study education and has been accepted into SHU's Honors Program.
The Saints will take the mat for the first time during the 2022-23 school year. Any ladies interested in wrestling in college or learning more about the women's wrestling program are encouraged to fill out the recruit form here.
