Siena Heights sophomore setter Aubrey Bates was voted the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's volleyball setter of the week by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Bates had another big week for the Saints as she led the team's attack with an average of 10.64 assists/set which is higher than her season average of 9.97. She also contributed on defense with 30 digs and six blocks--including a 16-dig, five-block performance against Concordia (Mich.). The Saints went 3-0 during the week and sit firmly within the top-four teams in the conference standings heading into the final week of the regular season.
This is the third setter of the week award for Bates this year (and her career). This is the sixth WHAC women's volleyball weekly award for the SHU women's volleyball team this season.
Siena Heights returns to the court this Wednesday with a road contest against Lawrence Tech at 7:00 p.m.
