Siena Heights sophomore Payton Osborne was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's volleyball defensive player of the week by the league office this afternoon.
Osborne had a productive week leading the Saints back row with 77 digs through three matches and helped propel SHU to a 2-1 record for the week. Her 6.42 digs/set was the highest on the team in that stat category. She was also second on the team in reception percentage with a .947.
This is the Monroe, Michigan native's second WHAC defensive player of the week award this season (and career). It is the fifth WHAC player of the week award for the Siena Heights women's volleyball team in 2021.
Osborne will lead the team against Lourdes on the road this Wednesday, October 20 in a WHAC matchup that begins at 7:00 p.m.
