ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Height women's volleyball team pushed past UNOH for a 3-1 win inside the SHU Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. The Saints (12-3, 7-2 WHAC) won their third-straight match in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play and are now tied with Cornerstone for the third spot in the league standings with a 7-2 record.

Aline Marinelo (.407) and Janel Ruhlman (.326) led the Saints' attack with 15 and 14 kills respectively. Olivia Norman contributed nine kills and three blocks in the win. Aubrey Bates tallied 41 assists to move her career total to 1,107, putting her in sole possession of ninth in the career-record book. Bates also had 14 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Payton Osborne led the way defensively with 25 digs. Kadie Carsten finished with 13 digs and six kills.

Siena Heights came out hot early as the team built a commanding 22-11 lead in the opening set and never looked back to take the 1-0 lead.

In the second set, the Saints found themselves down 15-10 and rallied to tie things up at 17 points. The teams traded scores for two more ties before the Racers pulled away and stole the second with a 25-22 win.

SHU took control early in the third with a 6-0 run to start the game. UNOH battled back to cut the deficit to 14-13, but the Navy and Yellow outpaced the visitors with a 25-19 decision to jump ahead 2-1.

The fourth set remained close for most of the time as neither team could pull ahead by more than five points. The Racers used a 3-0 run to come within two points of tying the score late (23-21), but Marinelo closed the door with two kills to complete the 3-1 win.
