Upcoming for the Saints: The Siena Heights women's volleyball team begins postseason play with a road matchup against the No. 4 seed, Indiana Tech on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. The advancing team will go on to face the top-seeded team of Cornerstone in the semifinal round on Friday, April 9.
Head Coach: Kim Berrington enters her sixth season as the head coach for the Saints. She is in her sixth season with the Saints with a record of 103-71 overall and 56-53 in the conference.
On the Road: The Saints are 4-5 on the road for the season. Siena looks to turn around the trend of four-straight losses on the road, including three 3-0 defeats.
WHAC Tournament: The Saints have qualified for the WHAC tournament every season dating back to 2011. Siena Heights is 5-4 in its first match of the tournament in that time. The Saints are 0-5 since 2005 in the quarterfinal round of the WHAC tournament.
Indiana Tech and Siena Heights have only met once in the postseason in the past 10 years. The Warriors won that meeting, 3-0, in the first round of the 2015 WHAC tournament.
Series History: The Warriors lead the all-time series against the Saints, 23-5. Indiana Tech won both matchups during the Spring 2021 season. Both of those contests were 3-0 victories. The Warriors have never lost to Siena Heights at home, obtaining a perfect 14-0 record inside the Schaefer Center.
Infusion of Youth: Several freshmen have made their presence known on the court this season for the Saints. Samantha Getson leads all freshmen with 129 kills (2nd on team). Aubrey Bates is the pace-setter for the Saints with a team-high 514 assists. She also leads the team in service assists with 31 and digs with 175; Getson is second with 27 aces.
Top in the WHAC: Aubrey Bates is 3rd in the WHAC in assists/set with 8.7. She is also tied for third in service aces/set with 0.5. She ranks fourth in total assists (514) and sixth in service aces (31).
Last Week Recap: Aquinas 3, SHU 0
The Saints fell to Aquinas 3-0 Thursday in conference action, 25-21, 25-16, 25-21. Aubrey Bates had 20 assists, Samantha Getson eight kills, and Payton Osborne 18 digs for SHU.
SHU 3, Michigan-Dearborn 0
The Saints (9-8 overall, 8-8 WHAC) ended the regular season with a 3-0 victory over Michigan-Dearborn Saturday, 25-16, 25-23, 25-20. Autumn Anderson had nine kills, Aubrey Bates 23 assists, and Payton Osborne 15 digs for SHU.
