Upcoming for Saints Women's Volleyball: The Saints look to continue their winning streak with three WHAC meetings this week. The first is on Tuesday, February 16 at Rochester. The final two matches are at home on Friday, versus Indiana Tech, and Sunday against Lourdes.
Head Coach: Kim Berrington enters her sixth season as the head coach for the Saints. She is in her sixth season with the Saints with a record of 96-63 overall and 50-45 in the conference. On the Road: The Saints have their first road contest of the 2020-21 season against Rochester on Tuesday. Siena Heights struggled on the road a season ago finishing with a 6-11 showing during away matches.
Protect This House: The saints are 58-29 at home since 2013. SHU hasn't started 2-0 at home for a season since 2018, that was also the last season the Saints had a 2-0 start to the season.
Series History: Rochester: Siena Heights has never lost to Rochester in the first 12 meetings between the teams. The Saints have swept the Warriors in eight of those meetings.
Indiana Tech: This is the 27th meeting between the Saints and Warriors. Indiana Tech holds a 21-5 advantage in the series, however, Siena won the last meeting in five sets in October of 2019.
Lourdes: This is the 23rd time the Gray Wolves and Saints will meet in women's volleyball. Lourdes holds a slight 13-9 lead in the series. When playing in the SHU Fieldhouse, the Saints are 6-4 against Lourdes. The Gray Wolves are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.
Last Week Recap: SHU 3, Concordia 2 The Saints won their season and conference opener in dramatic fashion, defeating Concordia in five sets Friday, 21-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-27, 16-14. Samantha Getson had 13 kills, with Autumn Anderson adding 11 kills and 17 digs and Aubrey Bates 41 assists and 21 digs. All made their SHU debuts.
SHU 3, Northwestern Ohio 2
The Saints (2-0 overall, 2-0 WHAC) pulled out their second five-set match in 24 hours, edging Northwestern Ohio Saturday (27-25, 21-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-12) in conference action. Janel Ruhlman and Samantha Getson each had 15 kills, with Aubrey Bates dishing out 41 assists with six aces and Kadie Carsten adding 19 digs for SHU.
Infusion of Youth: The Saints had four freshmen make their collegiate starting lineup debuts during the opening weekend of play. Aubrey Bates and Payton Osbourne started against Concordia (Mich.) on Friday. Samantha Getson and Kadie Carsten joined Bates in the starting lineup in Saturday's match against UNOH.
