Baker First Team, Vukaj All-Freshman as WHAC Honors Women's Volleyballers

Siena Heights senior outside hitter Halie Baker was named to the All-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference First Team while freshman middle hitter Leze Vukaj was recognized as an All-WHAC honorable mention. Vukaj was also selected to the WHAC All-Freshman Team.

Baker finished with 340 kills on the season (2.96 per set) and extended her school record for career kills at 1,271. She also had 155 digs, 50 total blocks and 12 aces.

For Baker, it marks the fourth consecutive year she has been honored by the WHAC. In 2013 and 2012, she was an honorable mention. In 2011, she was recognized on the All-Freshman Team.

Vukaj had 258 kills during the 2014 campaign (2.53 per set), finishing with a .249 hitting percentage and 108 total blocks (1.06 per set).

A total of five SHU women's volleyball players were selected to the Academic All-WHAC Team: seniors Emily Abbs, Mycala Cherry and Haley Dennis and juniors Haley Mercy and Nicole Morgan.

Dennis and Morgan are Sport Management majors while Cherry is an Art major. Abbs is focusing on Elementary Education while Mercy is also an Education major.

Mercy was also chosen to the WHAC Champions of Character Team.
