Siena Heights women's volleyball senior Mycala Cherry was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team, which is chosen by CoSIDA (Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America).
Cherry was honored in the District 1 College Division category, which encompasses Canadian schools and NAIA and two-year schools in Alabama, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.
Cherry is an art major, psychology minor and member of the SHU Student-Athlete Advisory Board. As a junior, she was named to the Academic All-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Team.
Nominees for the CoSIDA award must have a GPA of 3.30 or higher and be of sophomore, junior or senior academic standing at their respective institution.
