Women's Soccer Survives PKs at Madonna, Advances to WHAC Semifinals
LIVONIA, Mich. — The Siena Heights women's soccer team tied Madonna, 2-2, in the WHAC Tournament quarterfinals before advancing through to the semifinals with a 4-3 victory on penalty-kicks on Saturday afternoon.

Parker Cheney scored both SHU goals in game action and also tallied one of the four PK scores.

Maddie Morris hit the clincher in Round 5 of the PK shootout after Sydney Eads turned away Madonna shots in Rounds 4 and 5.

Cheney put the Saints ahead twice — during the third and 45th minutes — but the host Crusaders had an eventual answer each time.

Madonna tied the contest at 1-1 in the 24th and then forced overtime in the 90th with just five seconds remaining.

After the teams played two OT periods, the match was sent to PKs.

Jenna Moeller, Madison Balf and Cheney scored in order for the Saints, who shot second and had to even the tally each time.

The fourth round went scoreless before Eads made her second straight stop, setting the stage for Morris' winner.

Eads totaled six saves during normal play.

The Saints will take on Northwestern Ohio in the WHAC Tournament semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 8.
