Siena Heights senior Peyton Banks was named WHAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 16-22 after helping the Saints to wins over Lourdes and Northwestern Ohio.
Banks averaged 26.5 points over the two victories. Siena Heights bested Lourdes, 70-67, and then downed UNOH, 78-65. Banks scored 39 points against the Racers, falling only two points short of SHU's single-game record (Sierra Calhoun, 41 vs. Madonna, Feb. 28, 2015).
Banks, who began the week with a 14-point effort at Lourdes, finished 18 of 37 from the field in the two games (.486) and 6 of 13 from three-point land (.462). Banks also totaled 16 rebounds on the week.
Siena Heights has won three straight games and has won 8 of 9.
Banks has won the Player of the Week award twice in 2022-23. She broke the Saints' all-time scoring record earlier this season and now sits at 1,999 career points.
