Peyton Banks Named CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2021-22 Academic All-America® women's basketball NAIA teams on Wednesday afternoon. Siena Heights senior forward Peyton Banks was listed among the top 11 players in the NAIA as she made the second team.

Banks recorded 12 double-doubles for the 2021-22 season. The Wadsworth, Ohio native leads the WHAC with 18.3 PPG and 532 total points. She ranks second in free throw percentage with 87.5 and rebounds per game with 9.3. Banks is 3rd in field goal percentage with 51.0. She was named the co-WHAC Player of the Year—her third consecutive league player of the year award—and first-team All-WHAC for the second-straight season.

"Peyton has been a major contributor to the success of our program," said SHU women's basketball coach Sue Syljebeck. "being listed amongst the best in the NAIA with the CoSIDA Academic All-America award proves that she is one of the top women's basketball student-athletes in the country."

The 2021-22 Academic All-America® women's basketball NAIA team consists of 11 women's basketball players from institutions all over the country. Banks is one of two women's basketball student-athletes from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference on the All-America team (Emma Tuominen from Indiana Tech was also on the second team).
