Siena Heights senior forward Peyton Banks was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's basketball player of the week when the league office announced the weekly award winners this afternoon.
Banks had a phenomenal first week of her season as she began the season with 20 points in the blowout win over Grace Christian. She then recorded back-to-back double-doubles during the Lawrence Tech Blue Devil Classic that included a 34 point performance on Saturday and a 16 rebound showing on Sunday to lead the Saints to a 3-0 start 2021-22 campaign.
This is the two-time WHAC Player of the Year's first WHAC player of the week award for this season. It is the eighth weekly award of her career.
Banks will lead the Saints into their first conference game this Wednesday, November 10 when Siena Heights travels to face Madonna at 5:30 p.m.
