TUCSON, Ariz. -- Katie O'Hotzke blasted three home runs in two games, extending her season total to seven, while the Siena Heights softball team pulled off a 6-5 comeback win over Robert Morris (Ill.) before dropping an 11-7 decision to Missouri Valley on Saturday at the Tucson Invitational Games.
Starting with a two-run home run by O'Hotzke, the Saints scored four runs with two outs in their half of the seventh -- and then held off RMU in the bottom half -- to snag a stunning come-from-behind victory. Bitty Treece put the Saints ahead with a two-run single.
Taylor Hayes batted 3-for-4 with two RBI while Kenya Keller doubled. Hayes had RBI singles in the third and fifth innings. Mariah Boss batted 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
O'Hotzke also earned the win in the circle, allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits. She recorded six strikeouts.
The Saints (9-5) threatened with some rally magic in the loss to Missouri Valley, but ultimately had their six-game winning streak stopped.
O'Hotzke went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two homers at the plate. She also was the losing pitcher.
Hayes (homer) added a 3-for-4 game with three RBI. Sam Bellovary went 2-for-3 with a run.
With the Saints trailing 6-0, O'Hotzke smashed a two-run home run to cut SHU's deficit to four.
Siena Heights eventually fell behind 11-2 before scoring the game's final five runs.
O'Hotzke and Hayes had back-to-back jacks in the fifth. Kelsey Lampkowski added an RBI single before Hayes ripped a two-run single during SHU's three-run sixth.
Hayes also threw two hitless innings of relief in the pitcher's circle. She did not allow a run while compiling three strikeouts and two walks.
