ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Kolby Masserant placed eighth and was named All-American in the men's decathlon, which was contested Wednesday and Thursday at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at North Carolina-Asheville. Masserant spent more than 24 hours at the facility as events were delayed by weather both days.
Masserant had the second-best javelin of the decathlon and third-best long jump. He recorded three personal-best marks over the 10-stage event and tied another. He also had a pair of season-best performances.
All three personal records came on the track as he PR'd in the 110-meter hurdles, 400 and 1,500. He equaled his career-best in the high jump.
