Siena Heights men's track and field decathlete Holden Van Poppel doubled as both the WHAC Track Athlete of the Week and WHAC Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Van Poppel had a score of 6,832 in the 10-stage decathlon and had the top mark in six stages while tying for the top mark in the pole vault.
Van Poppel had top marks in the 100-meter dash (11.16 seconds), long jump (22 feet, 7 3/4 inches; 6.90 meters), shot put (43-1 3/4; 13.15m), high jump (6-6 3/4; 2.00m), 110 hurdles (15.26s) and discus (113-10; 34.70m). Van Poppel and Masserant cleared 13-9 1/4 (4.20m) in the pole vault.
