Men's Outdoor Claims Four Wins at Davenport, Spring Arbor

GRAND RAPIDS and SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's outdoor track field claimed four event wins while competing at the Davenport Invitational and Spring Arbor's Bill Bippes Cougar Classic.

Winners included Devonta Habern (long jump), Kolby Masserant (decathlon), Calvin Randolph (triple jump) and the 4x800-meter relay team.

Habern had a distance of 22 feet, 5 inches (6.83 meters) to win at Davenport.

Masserent led a 1-2 finish in the decathlon with 6,276 points at Davenport. Teammate Holden Van Poppel was second with 5,979.

Masserant was the top javelin thrower in the decathlon with a distance of 183-1 (55.81m). Van Poppel was tops in five stages, but fouled out of the shot put. Van Poppel earned first-place points in the 100 (11.01), 110 hurdles (14.94), long jump (22-1 1/2, 6.74m), high jump (6-4 1/4, 1.94m) and discus (117-5, 35.79m).

Randolph placed first in the triple at SAU with a distance of 43-1 1/2 (13.14m).

The winning 4x800 team of Henry Frederick, Kyler Pequet, Tyler Landis and Blake Schroeder had a winning time of 8:04.78 at Spring Arbor.
