As announced by the league office this afternoon, Siena Heights freshman Matthew Gipple was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) men's field athlete of the week.
Gipple earned the WHAC track athlete last week and added the field athlete of the week award this week. Gipple had another great week as he set an A-Standard mark in the win of the long jump event at the Tiffin University Andres Family College Open last Friday. That mark is currently ranked 3rd in the NAIA.
This is the second WHAC weekly award of Gipple's career and the second for the SHU men's track and field team.
The Saints will return to competition after the holiday break in January.
