The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2022 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and NAIA Scholar Team awards. The Siena Heights Men's Soccer Program had four student-athletes and their 2021-2022 team earn these distinctions.
In order to be nominated for the NAIA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.
For a team to be awarded, they must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the academic year.
Earning the award for the Saints was:
Alex Hanosh (2nd time), senior, applied mathematics major from Adrian, Michigan
Nathaniel Kehres (3rd time), senior, business administration major from Monroe, Michigan
Joel Koshko (2nd time), junior, exercise science major and biology minor from Warren, Michigan
Jacob Wojciechowski (2nd time), junior, environmental engineering major and environmental science minor from Commerce Township, Michigan
The Saints team was honored with their 5th NAIA Scholar Team Award and 3rd straight honor with a 3.13 team GPA. The award has been an honor for 15 years.
