Second-Half Struggles Sink Men's Soccer

EAST CHICAGO, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team fell victim to three second-half goals by Campbellsville (Ky.) and dropped a 4-2 decision to its receiving-votes opponent at Calumet Saint Joseph's Crimson Wave Invitational, which began Saturday.

After a goal by Campbellsville's Marcelo Petit, Bryce DeLamielleure scored in the 41st minute, evening the score at 1-1 for SHU.

The Tigers put in a pair of goals during the 55th and 58th minutes by Alex Ryan and Roraigh Yearwood, respectively.

Collin McLaughlin tallied for the Saints in the 60th minute to trim SHU's deficit to 3-2, but the Saints would be unable to climb all the way back.

Campbellsville finished the scoring with an 81st-minute goal by Chris Moyo. Yearwood assisted the score.

Nestor Escobar was the winning goalie for Campbellsville, finishing with two saves. Brandon Gonzalez stopped four shots for the Saints (0-2).

Siena Heights will return to action on Sunday with a consolation-game matchup against host Calumet Saint Joseph. CSJ fell to Clarke, 4-3, in its first-round matchup.
