Three Saints and Team Honored by NAIA

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2021 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and NAIA Scholar Team awards.  The Siena Heights Men's Golf Program had three student-athletes and their 2020-2021 team earn these distinctions. 

In order to be nominated for the NAIA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.

For a team to be awarded, they must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the academic year.  The Saints had the eighteenth highest men's golf team GPA in the NAIA.

Earning the award for the Saints was:

Nathan Hamilton (1st time), senior, accounting major with a concentration in finance from Plymouth, Michigan

Davis Longyear (1st time), junior, business administration major with a concentration in finance and communications minor from South Bend, Indiana

Michael Rampe (1st time), junior, communications major from East Lansing, Michigan

The Saints team was honored with their 7th NAIA Scholar Team Award and 2nd straight honor with a 3.58 team GPA.  The award has been an honor for 14 years.
