Men's Hoops Holds Off Michigan-Dearborn

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team defeated Michigan-Dearborn in WHAC action on Saturday 71-66. 

Jonas Tester led the charge scoring for SHU with 27 points while Nate Houston III added 13. Off the bench, Danilo Rajlic added 11 rebounds. 

SHU 6-17 (3-12) was in back and forth action early, until the Saints exploded offensively to end the half on an 18-8 run in the remaining 8:19 to take a 41-25 lead at halftime. 

In the second half, SHU took their largest lead of the game up 17 points at the 14:15 mark in the second half. The Saints still held strong as they had a 14 point advantage up 62-48, until Michigan-Dearborn went on a 10-1 run in a quick span of 3:04 to cut the margin to five at 63-58. The Saints then converted at the charity stripe to secure the win. 

On the afternoon, the Saints shot 43.6% from the field and 18.2% from behind the three-point line. The Saints also held a 48-39 rebound advantage. 

The Saints will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 5, with a 7:30 p.m. EST game at Defiance in WHAC action.
