Upcoming for Saints Men's Basketball: Starting the season off, the Saints were chosen as ninth in the WHAC coaches' preseason poll. Grace will be SHU's first opponent this season followed up by Adrian on November 24th.

Head Coach Joe Pechota: In his eight seasons as head coach, Pechota has an overall record of 100-141 and a conference record of 69-102. Joe reached his 200th win in the 2019-20 season with a win over the University of Akron-Wayne. 
Wrapping Up 2019: Last season, the Saints were 13-18 overall with 11 of those losses and nine of those wins being in conference. They finished seventh in the WHAC league standings and lost to Madonna in the first round of the WHAC Tournament. They averaged 76.2 points a game with a field goal shooting percentage of 46.3. They never lost more than three games in a row and won seven out of their eight home games last season. At the end of the season, the team totaled 2,361 points and also averaged 35.7 rebounds per game.
Home Openers: The Saints have three wins for home openers in the past seven seasons. The Saints have only played Concordia (Mich.) more than once in a home opener in the past seven years. The additional teams include; Grace Christian (Mich.), Bethel (Ind.), Trinity Christian (Ill.), Akron-Wayne (Ohio), and Roosevelt (Ill.). Siena Heights' biggest margin in a home opener in the past seven years was in the 2014-15 season with a 116-63 win against Akron-Wayne (Ohio).
Scouting Grace: Grace started their season off this year with two wins against Concordia (Mich.) (88-78) and Ohio Christian (98-65). Cade Gibbs is the teams leading scorer with 23.5 PPG, Frankie Davidson leads the team in rebounds with 9.0 RPG. Matt Jennings leads the team in assists with 14. Jennings and Davidson respectively lead the team in steals with four. Davidson and Elijah Malone respectively lead the team in blocks with five. 
As a team, the Lancers have scored 93.0 points per game and have been outscored by 21.5 points through two games of the year. They made 80-142 field goal attempts for a team shooting percentage of .563. From beyond the arc, Grace was 11-28 (.393) and 15-27 (.556) from the charity stripe. 
For ball control stats, the Lancers hauled in 94 rebounds for a 16.5 margin. They committed 31 turnovers and have a 1.5 assist/turnover ratio while scoring 17 points off turnovers.
Top Returning Players: The Saints return Kevin Rice (Sr. | Detroit, Mich.) the lone varsity started last season. Rice appeared in 29 of the 31 games and started 20 and was the team leader in blocks per game (1.2). He was also third on the team in points per game (9.0), field-goal percentage (51.4), and rebounds per game (5.8). In total, the Saints return six players who were in the program last year to the varsity roster. Those student-athletes are joined by 11 newcomers who round out the 17-member varsity roster.
