Second-Half Struggles Haunt Siena Men in Loss to Dearborn

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team had a seven-point halftime lead, but could not keep the steam rolling in the second half as they drop a 69-68 nail-biter to Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday night.

Malachi Satterlee led the Saints in scoring with 19 points. Stone Beckwith added 14 points while Christian Covile chipped in 13 points. Satterlee added seven rebounds as well. After a lights out first half when they shot 16 of 26 (61.5 percent), the Saints (11-17, 7-13) shot only 7 of 20 (35 percent) in the second half.

The Wolverines (8-20, 5-15) turned up the pressure in the second half. They forced the Saints into 10 turnovers (18 total) which proved to be effective. Jamiel Strickland paced UMD with 16 points while A.J. Dombrowski and Brandon Cole both added 10 points.

Siena Heights will return to action on Wednesday with a contest at WHAC opponent Lourdes (Ohio).
