Saints Endure Many Struggles in Loss to Aquinas Men

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team struggled for much of the night as it dropped a 79-53 decision to Aquinas in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Christian Covile was SHU's leading scorer, finishing with 13 points, while Malachi Satterlee grabbed nine rebounds. Kirtis Murphy and Latwan Wesley had eight points apiece off the bench for Siena (8-12, 4-8).

Siena Heights led early, 13-10, before Aquinas (8-11, 5-6) took command with a 35-14 stretch to close the half. The visiting Saints led by as many as 31 in the second half.

As a team, SHU went 16 of 48 from the field (33.3 percent) while Aquinas was 31 of 63 (49.2 percent). The teams' assist/turnover ratios also did not favor Siena Heights. SHU had six assists and 18 turnovers while Aquinas had 22 assists and six turnovers.

The visitors were led by Kolin Kazen's 18 points and eight rebounds. Austin Semple added 15 points and eight assists, Breff Pfahler scored 11 points, and Jake Bullock dished seven assists.

Siena Heights will be in action again on Saturday when it visits Northwestern Ohio.
