Football's Murlin Now Two-Time Academic All-American

Siena Heights football player Kole Murlin is a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-American.

Murlin, a senior linebacker, was selected to the Academic-All America First Team, as selected by CSC. He was previously honored on the 2020 First Team.

This adds yet another remarkable achievement to an already-stellar collegiate career. In 2022, Murlin became the first-ever three-time Mid-States Football Association Player of the Year for either offense or defense and the first Saint in program history to receive All-America recognition in three seasons.

Murlin has carried a 3.87 GPA as an education major and was a student teacher at Tecumseh High School during the fall semester.

"Kole is very deserving of every honor he receives," said Saints head coach Matt Kohn. "He is a tremendous leader and has been a joy to coach."

Murlin was one of six players honored from the Mid-States Football Association and one of four from the Mideast League.

The Siena Heights football program has garnered five Academic All-America awards since the program's inception in 2011. Along with Murlin's two awards, the other three to earn hardware are Sederick Dunbar (2013), Jake Helsel (2014) and Izayah Newsom (2018).
