NAIA Honors 11 student-athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2022 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes award.  The Siena Heights Football Program had eleven student-athletes earn these distinctions.

In order to be nominated for the NAIA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.

Earning the award for the Saints was:

Andrew Bookman (1st time), junior, education major from Pickerton, Ohio

Cole LaFave (3rd time), senior, business major from Rochester, Michigan

Jacob Lederman (3rd time), senior, business major from Grand Blanc, Michigan

Andrew Lyons (2nd time), senior, criminal justice major from Flint, Michigan

Justin McCown (2nd time), senior, business major from Sterling Heights, Michigan

Kole Murlin (2nd time), senior, education major from Celina, Ohio

Ty Smith (1st time), senior, business major from Pewamo Westphalia, Michigan

Kabe Sykora (1st time), junior, biology major from Marshall, Michigan

Nick Turchiano (1st time), junior, sport management major from Cincinnati, Ohio

Walter Turner (1st time) junior, psychology major from Carlson, Michigan

TJ Verner (1st time) junior, business major from Clawson, Michigan
