Siena Heights junior linebacker Kole Murlin was named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast defender of the week when the league office announced the weekly award winners on Monday afternoon.
Murlin was all over the field on Saturday as he anchored the Saint defense as he broke the school record for tackles in a game with 22 total tackles. He registered 1.5 tackles for loss and tallied two pass breakups as well.
This is Murlin's first MSFA defensive player of the week award this season and the second of his career. It's also the first MSFA player of the week award for the Siena Heights football program for 2021.
The Saints will be back on the field a week from this Saturday, September 18 when they host Saint Xavier inside of O'Laughlin Stadium at noon, EST.
