Siena Heights junior tight end Donovan Campbell was named NAIA All-America First Team by the American Football Coaches Association while sophomore defensive back DeShawn Gilbert was named to the NAIA All-America Second Team, as announced by the AFCA on Wednesday.

Both Campbell and Gilbert were All-Mid-States Football Association Mideast League First Team honorees. Gilbert was also the MSFA Mideast Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

Campbell was the top offensive player for the 2013 Siena Heights offense. He led the Saints in all major receiving categories, making 60 catches for 781 yards and eight touchdowns -- all of which were single-season school records. Campbell is now a two-time All-MSFA First Team honoree and the first All-America First Team performer in SHU football history.

Gilbert led the SHU defense with six interceptions and nine pass breakups -- both of which were SHU single-season records. He returned one of his INTs for a touchdown and finished with 42 1/2 tackles, including three for-loss.
