The 2013‐14 Capital One Academic All‐District ®Football Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
A total of ten Siena Heights football players were named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team. First‐team Academic All‐District ®honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All‐America®Team ballot, where first‐, second‐ and third‐team All‐America honorees will be selected later this month.
The honored players are senior Sederick Dunbar II (Ferndale, Mich.), juniors Trent Bragg (Lansing, Mich.), Jon Dozier(Ferndale, Mich.), Jake Helsel (Grayling, Mich.), CJ Marious (Toledo, Ohio), Drew Milligan (Hudson, Mich.), Collin Teff (Portage, Mich.), Lyle Van Fleteren (Armada, Mich.), and sophomores Burke Hart (Hudson, Mich.), and Keith Marshall (Farmington Hills, Mich.).
The trio was honored in the District 1 College Division category, which includes NAIA and NJCAA student-athletes from schools in Michigan, Alabama, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hapmshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia.
Dunbar and Marshall are criminal justice majors, Milligan, Marious, and Teff are accounting majors, Hart is a business major, Bragg is a sport management major, Helsel and Dozier are biology majors, and Van Fleteren is a triple major of biology, chemistry and math.
Nominees for the CoSIDA award must have a GPA of 3.30 or higher and be of sophomore, junior or senior academic standing at their respective institution.
