Senior Madeline Soave and junior Olivia Smith, members of the Siena Heights competitive dance team, were recognized as 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the NAIA recently.

Soave is a psychology major while Smith is a fine arts major.

In order to be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status. A total of 78 cheer and dance athletes were recognized.
