ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team lost a pair of WHAC games to Rochester Christian on Saturday at the McLaughlin Baseball Field. Individual recaps are below.
Game 1: Rochester Christian 8, Siena Heights 0 (7 innings)
Relief pitcher Josh Floyd worked four innings of one-hit scoreless relief while recording three strikeouts and two walks.
Jaozef Del Rosario and Brady Belegrin had hits for the Saints.
Game 2: Rochester Christian 5, Siena Heights 4 (14 innings)
The Saints came back from a 4-2 deficit, tying the contest with single runs in the seventh and eighth innings, before the marathon continued. RCU's winning run scored on a bases-loaded walk.
Jimmy Haranczak batted 2-for-7 and scored the game-tying run in the eighth on a squeeze bunt by Mac Melvin.
SHU trailed 3-0 before Justin Holton plated the Saints' first run with a single in the second.
Braxton Mustiful had an RBI single in the fourth, pulling SHU within 3-2.
After RCU pushed the margin to 4-2 in the seventh, Joseph Smith drew a bases-loaded walk in the SHU seventh, setting the stage for Melvin's game-tying bunt in the eighth.
Dayton Stamper started on the mound for SHU, going the first six innings. He gave up three runs on four hits while striking out four batters.
Pearson Mendiuk tossed 5 1/3 of relief, keeping the Saints alive in extra innings.
