A total of seven Siena Heights baseball players were recognized as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the NAIA on Wednesday.
The SHU group included seniors Zack Dunlop, Austin Hauck, Thomas McCarter, Ryne Sanders, Travis Stricklin and Joe Williams and graduate student Tayler Thelen.
Hauck and Sanders were accounting majors. Dunlop studied mathematics, McCarter majored in psychology and Williams was a social studies major.
Stricklin majors in elementary education while Thelen majors in healthcare leadership.
A total of 353 men were recognized as scholar-athletes.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
