The following was printed on Joe Zanni's Hall of Fame Plaque.
Joe Zanni was a defender for the Saints from 2005 to 2008. He was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, becoming one of only fourteen Saints in school history to earn NAIA honors. In 2008, Zanni earned WHAC Defensive Player of the Year as well as First Team All-WHAC honors.
His success on the field was matched by his achievements in the classroom. Zanni was named Academic All-WHAC twice and was a NAIA Scholar-Athlete once. He played in 73 games—the seventh highest career mark in SHU history—starting 52 of them. Zanni scored 12 goals and added seven assists during his career.
He served as a two-time team captain and was voted Team MVP in 2008.
