The 2015–16 Siena Heights University men’s golf team occupies a historic place in the University’s athletic legacy as the only WHAC Championship team in program history. Their season stands as a benchmark for competitive excellence, consistency, and achievement—both on the course and in the classroom.

The Saints opened the year in commanding fashion, winning their first three tournaments of the season, including the Ken Venturi Invitational and the first two WHAC Jamborees. At the opening WHAC Jamboree, Siena Heights delivered a performance for the record books, shooting a 286 at Kaufman Golf Course, setting the WHAC Conference record for lowest team score. That historic round featured scores of 70 by Tim Combs, 70 by Nicklaus Zanotti, 71 by Ian Martin, and 75 by Robert Kowalenko, with Parker Ross serving as the fifth player with an outstanding 76.

Siena Heights continued its dominant conference play throughout the season, capturing additional team titles at WHAC Jamboree #4, the Siena Heights Fall Invitational, and earning its sixth tournament victory in the spring at the Lourdes Invitational. At the final WHAC Jamboree, the Saints placed third, finishing just one stroke behind second place and two behind the event winner. Despite the narrowly missed event victory, their cumulative performance secured the WHAC Championship by four strokes, sealing their place in school history.

Individually, the Saints were led by Ian Martin, who earned an extraordinary sweep of conference honors, being named WHAC Player of the Year, WHAC Newcomer of the Year, and a First Team All-WHAC selection. Martin posted a 71.4 WHAC scoring average, finishing a full stroke better than his nearest competitor. Tim Combs and Nicklaus Zanotti also earned Honorable Mention All-WHAC recognition, highlighting the team’s depth and balance.

The 2015–16 Saints matched their success on the course with excellence in the classroom. Tim Combs, Joe Forest, Michael MacLean, Parker Ross, Collin Smith, and Gage Snyder earned Academic All-WHAC honors. Combs, MacLean, Ross, Smith, and Snyder were also named NAIA Scholar-Athletes, while Parker Ross was selected to the WHAC Champions of Character Team, exemplifying leadership and sportsmanship.

The championship roster included Nick Burnham, Tim Combs, Joe Forest, Andrew Ioanou, Robert Kowalenko, Ian Martin, Parker Ross, Nick Sanscrainte, Collin Smith, Gage Snyder, and Nicklaus Zanotti. The Saints were led by Hall of Fame Head Coach Al Sandifer, assisted by Brett Quitiquit and Siena Heights Hall of Fame standouts Nick Campbell and Bobby Plumer.
