ADRIAN, MICH. – The Siena Heights Athletics Department will be announcing an all-decade team for every SHU athletic team to finish out the year 2020. Each all-decade squad will feature a starting lineup consisting of the best athletes at each position from the past 10 seasons.
This edition features the Siena Heights women's cross country all-decade team. The team consists of Lyndsay Payne, Ashley Russo, Andrea Crowe, Elaine Johnson, Megan Rosales, Beth Heldmeyer, Lauren McMahon, Casie Nadasky, Lucia Alfaro, and Patricia Santos-Buthrago.
The honorable mentions for the All-Decade team are Anna Buist, Mariah Ridal, Kristin Stobinski, and Eva Chmielewski.
The team includes multiple award winners including four first-team All-WHAC awards, two second-team All-WHAC players, and six honorable mention All-WHAC performers.
Lyndsay Payne – Payne earned numerous awards during her career at Siena Heights. She earned first-team All-WHAC twice (2010, 2011). During those same two seasons, she was also a WHAC all-academic member and an NAIA Scholar-Athlete. She was a WHAC runner of the week in 2011 and was the team's representative on the Champions of Character squad that season.
Ashley Russo – Russo was an All-WHAC first-team member in both 2016 and 2017. In her first two seasons with Siena Heights (2014, 2015) she was an honorable mention. In 2016, she was named WHAC runner of the week and in 2017 she was on the all-academic team.
Andrea Crowe – Crowe earned a spot on the second-team All-WHAC squad in 2019. That same season she was named the WHAC runner of the week.
Elaine Johnson – Johnson finished her career with three All-WHAC honorable mention awards (2013, 2014, 2015). She was a WHAC All-Academic member in 2014 and 2015. Johnson added an NAIA Scholar-Athlete award to her resume in 2014.
Megan Rosales – Rosales finished her career with a personal best time in the 5k of 18:58 that she set during the 2017 season. That finish falls in the top-10 fastest finishes for the Saints during the decade.
Beth Heldmeyer – Heldmeyer was a first-team All-WHAC performer in both 2010 and 2011. During the 2011 season, she was also a member of the league's all-academic team. In 2012, she earned All-WHAC honorable mention, runner of the week, and Champions of Character.
Lauren McMahon – McMahon was a second-team All-WHAC selection in 2016. That same season, she was also on the conference all-academic team and an honoree of the NAIA Scholar-Athlete award.
Casie Nadasky – Nadasky had a career-best finish of 19:05 in 2019. A time that was eighth-best in the past 10 seasons of SHU women's cross country.
Lucia Alfaro – Alfaro was a member of the WHAC All-Academic team in both 2015 and 2016. Her personal best finish of 19:11 set in 2015 places her ninth on the fastest finishes of the past decade.
