WHAC Preseason Poll Release
The Siena Heights women's volleyball team was chosen to finish eighth in the 2019 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Preseason Coaches Poll that was released by the league office on Thursday. The Saints finished 2018 with a 10-10 record in league play to fall eighth in the conference standings.
The preseason poll is voted on by the coaches in the league who rank the teams in the league from 1-12. 12 points are given to the team at the top of the list, 11 points to the second-ranked team, and so on to determine the order of the poll.
Defending regular-season champion Aquinas finished atop the rankings with nine of the 11 first-place votes and 117 points. Madonna received the other two first-place votes to finish with 99 points and the second spot in the poll. 2018 WHAC tournament champion, Cornerstone, was third with 89 points. Lawrence Tech, Lourdes, and UNOH all finished with 81 points to tie for fourth in the rankings. Indiana Tech tallied six points more than SHU (53 points) to claim the seventh spot with 59 points. Michigan-Dearborn recorded 24 points to rank ninth. Concordia (Mich.) (22 points) and Rochester (20 points) rounded out the poll.
