Siena Heights women's track and field thrower Ashley O'Neill was honored as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
O'Neill made an impressive mark at the Don Kleinow Invitational with two first place finishes and both an automatic-qualifying and provisional-qualifying performance. She earned a career-best distance in the discus throw with an automatic distance of 151 feet, 10 inches that took first place
O'Neill managed a season's best toss in the hammer throw with a provisional-qualifying distance of 159 feet, 2 1/4 inches. She also threw her best shot put distance of the season, going 40-3 to take first place.
This is O'Neill's first career honor as WHAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
