Women's T&F Excel Over The Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Siena Heights women's track and field team competed in the 2017 Hilltopper Relays and the George Glass Invitational over the weekend. The Saints finished with five automatic qualifiers and five provisional qualifiers between the two meets.

Asia Gardner finished the weekend with three provisional-qualifying scores. Gardner took fourth place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.06 seconds, ninth place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.85 seconds and tenth in the long jump at 5.50m.

Alexis Moore competed in the 400 meter dash and landed the third place spot with an automatic-qualifying time of 56.40 seconds.

The Saints 4x400 meter relay team took fifth place with an automatic-qualifying time of 47.51 seconds.

Marissa Johnson had a provisional-qualifying performance, clearing the bar at 1.65m and claiming second place.

Siena Heights had two automatic-qualifying performances in the pole vault. Tasha McKinley took sixth place at 3.88m and Sheila McKinley took seventh at 3.73m.

Mildrenae Young-Brooks took fifth place in the long jump with an automatic-qualifying distance of 5.65m.

The team had four top three finishes at the George Glass Invitational.

Ashley Russo came out on top in the 1500 meter dash with a time of 4:50.41.

Amanda Geerlings took second place in discus at 39.60m, followed by third place performer Ashley O'neill at 38.83m.

O'neill threw a provisional-qualifying distance of 48.97m in the hammer throw, claiming second place.

Next up, the Saints will host the Don Kleinow Invitational on Thursday, April 13.
