The Siena Heights women's soccer team continues their season as the Saints head to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinal against Madonna. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, in Livonia, Mich.
On Wednesday, forward Samantha Bartelotti netted three goals to help lead the Saints to a 4-2 victory over Indiana Tech in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinal. Julia Stancato had the Saints' fourth goal as Taylor Hill made four saves. The victory boosts the Saints' record to 10-6-2 overall. Madonna is the No. 2 seed in the tournament with an overall record of 13-3-2.
Last time the Saints met the Crusaders was Sept. 23 to open conference play. Siena Heights won 2-0 as Kathryn Gordon scored both goals for SHU, with assists from Bartelotti and Danielle Eastman. Madonna outshot the Saints, 14-13, while the Saints held a 7-2 corner kick advantage. In net for SHU, Meghan Bogg stopped seven shots to earn the shutout.
Madonna defeated Lourdes 3-0 in the quarterfinal round en route to the semifinal. Julia Henning scored once and Nicolette Vultaggio put the net two score on the board to give MU the victory. Julia Stewart had two saves to earn the clean sheet.
Price for admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors--parent passes will not be accepted for WHAC Tournament admission.
